MARIANAS Eye Institute is proud to announce that Jennifer Armia has officially earned the title of Ophthalmic Coding Specialist or OCS. This certification is awarded by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology and represents the highest standard of expertise in ophthalmic coding and billing practices.
Jennifer has been an integral part of the Marianas Eye Institute team for the past 10 years, bringing a strong foundation in financial management with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy. Her latest achievement not only marks a personal milestone but also strengthens the clinic’s ability to provide accurate and ethical billing services that support exceptional patient care.
Jennifer now joins Flor Racoma, chief accountant, as one of the clinic’s certified OCS professionals —making the pair a powerhouse of knowledge and leadership in ophthalmic financial operations.
Reflecting on her journey, Jennifer shared: “I’m very much grateful to our general manager, Wendielyn Escota, and our Chief Accountant, Flor Racoma, for pushing me to take the OCS exam. It was long overdue — I kept saying I’m not ready yet. But with their constant encouragement and with my family’s support, I finally decided to take that one step forward. Thank you, MEI team!”
