The Philippine Consulate General on Guam’s mobile consular outreach is temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Philippine Honorary Consulate Office-CNMI will begin accepting passport extension processing on Monday, Nov. 16. This will be conducted at the Philippine Honorary Consulate-CNMI Support Office at Sun Palace Hotel in Oleai.
Honorary Consul Arago is advising Filipino nationals with valid and unexpired Philippine passports or with at least a month before the expiration date, to avail themselves of the passport extension opportunity. The honorary consul will also assist other passport extension requests depending on the applicant’s needs.
Honorary Consul Arago is also advising applicants to give his office at least a week for the processing of the passport extension requests.
Based on the advisory from the consulate office on Guam, however, holders of manually extended passports may be refused admission by border control authorities when traveling to a foreign country or at an international ports of entry.
Honorary Consul Arago said holders of extended Philippine passports must understand that they can be refused entry to a foreign country.
Applicants must also fill out and sign a Request for Emergency Extension of Passport Validity that will be available at the honorary consulate’s support office.
Once extended, the passport must be renewed prior to the expiry date of the extension. There can be no re-extension.
Honorary Consul Arago said he is also informing U.S. Customs and Border Protection that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, through the consulate office, will be conducting manual extension of passports that Philippine nationals will use when traveling through Guam and/or other Asian countries.
For applicants needing a two-year passport validity extension for purposes of work permits such as CW1 renewal, the request of extension will be submitted to and processed by the Philippine Consulate General on Guam via courier or postal service.
