PSS officials meet with health, safety, security partners

Commissioner of Education Dr. Lawrence F. Camacho and the Public School System’s Emergency Crisis Team met with key CNMI health, safety, and security officials at the Pacific Islands Club on March 15, 2024. The participating entities included the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Fire and Emergency Management Services, CNMI Homeland Security, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, the Saipan Mayor’s Office and the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter. They discussed issues pertaining to school safety, security, and student well-being, among other topics mentioned in the PSS Emergency Operation Plan. The plan is designed to handle various types of challenges, including threats, mitigation strategies as well as training and improvements at all 20 elementary, middle, and high school campuses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota
