To honor the life of the late Manuel A. Sablan, who as a member of the Marianas Political Status Commission negotiated the Covenant that brought the Northern Marianas into the United States, U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan presented his family a United States flag that had flown over the Capitol. Manuel A. Sablan dedicated his life to our community, serving in the Trust Territory and Commonwealth governments and as head of the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority. Representing the family during the flag presentation on Friday were his widow, Del Boyer Sablan, and four of their children: Manny Jr., Meredith “Ding,” Monique, and Melvin.
