ON Jan. 7, 2024, the Lions Clubs International, Region 2, District 204 celebrated the New Year by holding its first-ever team-building activities at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan. The event was attended by members, Leos, friends and families.
District Governor Blanca Imbo from Guam joined the activities, which included games, raffles, food and fellowship.
Team-building programs help form and strengthen teams within an organization, and are also part of self-care.
Self-care is the process of establishing behaviors to ensure the holistic well-being of oneself. It aims to promote health, and actively manage illness when it occurs. Individuals can engage in self-care daily through good food choices, exercise, sleep and hygiene.
Lions Club members need self-care so they can be healthy and do their jobs while helping and caring for others, which is what being a Lions member is all about.
“We have done a lot for the community and having this kind of activity is just a give-back to all members,” Region Chair Annamae Adaza said. “It’s time to unwind, relax, play, dance and sing. As we continue serving the community we are also taking care of ourselves — self-care is vital in our lives.”
The Lions are grateful to the donors of the raffle items, District Governor Blanca Imbo, Immediate Past District Governor Loisa Cabuhat, Second Vice District Governor Ronald Hidalgo, and Naty Bui of Genpro International as well as all committees and leaders.
The Lions’ Region 2, District 204 is composed of 12 clubs that are autonomous in their projects, fundraising and other activities.
