At 3 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2023 the senior class of Saipan International School attended the NACAC Virtual College Fair. The students spent the early morning hours chatting with college admissions counselors, attending live Q & A sessions, and starting their application progress. Students enjoyed the opportunity to search over 100 colleges on this platform. Mrs. Taflinger, Saipan International Schools counselor, wanted students to feel that they have opportunities to attend college fairs even if it looks a bit different. Allowing students to experience this type of event will increase their knowledge of different colleges and give them the opportunity to talk directly to the admissions counselors. This is especially important due to the time difference that we encounter with many of the colleges and universities that students are interested in. “One of the highlights of the events was a Student-Led Q&A from university students at Stony Brook,” she said. “With the success of this event, Saipan International School plans to host this event again in the future.”
