MJ Magno
(SIS) — Saipan International School is proud to announce that senior MJ Magno has been awarded a full scholarship through the prestigious QuestBridge National College Match program to attend Boston College. This marks the sixth consecutive year an SIS student has achieved this honor, underscoring the school’s commitment to academic excellence. MJ joins the ranks of SIS Gecko QuestBridge Scholars, Malika Miyawaki (Emory), Mac Guintu (Emory), Cevina Hwang (Princeton), Tiana Cabrera (Wesleyan), Lisha Lai (Boston College), and Stephanie Kim (Wesleyan). This represents more than $2,000,000 in scholarship funding for SIS students from QuestBridge alone.
MJ has demonstrated exceptional leadership at SIS, serving as Treasurer of the High School Student Council. Her dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities exemplifies the qualities that QuestBridge seeks in its scholars. She is an AP Scholar with Distinction and has already earned her AP Capstone Diploma.
QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that connects high-achieving, low-income students with full scholarships to top colleges and universities across the United States. This year, out of more than 17,000 applicants, MJ was selected as one of the 1,755 Match Scholarship Recipients, highlighting her outstanding academic achievements and leadership skills.
Boston College, located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, is a distinguished Jesuit university known for its rigorous academics and commitment to service. Ranked among the top national universities, Boston College offers a comprehensive educational experience rooted in the liberal arts, preparing students for leadership and service. MJ plans on studying Nursing at Boston College.
Saipan International School, founded in 1994, is a leading independent K-12 institution in the CNMI. With a robust Advanced Placement program, including AP Capstone, and a focus on individualized support, SIS equips students like MJ with the skills and confidence to excel globally.
