Chen Chieh Chou and Pong Sun were charged with trespassing for entering another man’s house and two counts of assault and battery for assaulting the latter on March 22
Chou was also charged with aggravated assault, attempted assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and failing to obey a police officer.The defendants were both summoned to appear in court today, Friday at 10 am in Melekeok to face their charges.The police affidavit submitted in court stated that the victim was preparing for bed at 11 pm on March 22 when he heard noises from the living room. The victim checked what the noise all about was and found that two people had unlawfully entered his house.The affidavit stated that Chou who was armed with a large knife attacked the victim.The affidavit stated that “while victim fought for his life, he saw defendants attack his wife as well.”The victim instructed his wife to leave and ask for help, the affidavit stated.The affidavit further stated that victim managed to knock out Chou and a witness who saw the struggle between the defendant and the victim managed to grab the knife away from Chou while he was on the floor.The affidavit stated that police officers arrived to the scene later and Chou refused to cooperate with them and resisted arrest.A court document also revealed that Chou was convicted of DUI in 2008.
