WHEN asked about the drugs and drug paraphernalia seized by law enforcement officers from his vehicle, Derik Camacho Reyes, 39, admitted that he is an addict who smokes “ice.”
On Jan. 12, 2021, the Drug Enforcement Task Force seized from Reyes’ Jeep Wrangler 0.9 gram of white crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, one glass pipe containing ice, and 16 grams of marijuana.

In a freely given statement to police, Reyes stated that he had smoked ice with Juan Sablan Ada Jr. before they were approached by task force officers outside a supermarket in San Antonio.
At the time, Ada was in Reyes’ parked Jeep Wrangler while Reyes was in the supermarket.
Reyes was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance while Ada was separately charged by the government in connection to the case.
At the preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $50,000 cash bail on Reyes who was then remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.
According to court information, Reyes still has pending drug cases from 2017 and 2018. He graduated from the Drug Court program recently, Variety learned.
