Division of Environmental Health to continue inspection

Rosalita Tadao, specialist 1 of the Consumer Protection Program, said hundreds of houses were already done for the inspection.

She said last week there were two hamlets were inspected by the DEH personnel and now another two hamlets have ongoing inspection.

Tadao admitted that despite the clean and sanitary regulations being implemented by the office, many houses are still not complying with the division standards. A few houses have untidy environment.

She said aside from households they also check stores in Airai. They inspect canned goods and other products if they are dented, rusted or expired. If they see problems on the product they immediately recall or condemn it.

Meanwhile, Tadao added that there were no problems of food products being sold in the stores. All stores are abiding in the safety food standards.

At least seven to eight stores have inspected by the DEH personnel in Airai.

This year 12 States had already done with the inspection. The DEH target is to finish all the remaining four States before end of the year.
