(DPS) — On Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at about 2:08 p.m., the Department of Public Safety dispatched units to a report of an unresponsive individual at the former Mariana Resort.
Members of the Covid-19 Task Force initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation until help arrived. The male victim was later transported to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation where he was pronounced dead by an attending physician.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was an unvaccinated individual from Guam who arrived on Nov. 23, 2021. The victim tested negative and was scheduled to be released on the day he was found in his room. It was revealed that the manner of death was suicide.
Notification of kin has been completed, and upon the request of the family, details regarding the victim will be withheld.
DPS asks that the public be mindful of the family during this time.
