Enforcement training launched

Police officers from Palau, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and Republic of Marshall Islands (RMIs) will be going through the law enforcement training which started Sunday.

US Navy Lieutenant Gary “Alex” Santis, training-liaison-officer, said the three-week long training will be on firearms and investigation training.

“The training is basically how to do better investigation. To become better officer in using the techniques, what they need to learn, practice and be better at it .” Santis said in an interview

He said this is the first time that his organization-the Operations/Training Department- have coordinated with the partner nations to do the training.

The marksmanship training will be held in Aimeliik State Firing Range while the investigation training is conducted at the Koror Assemble hall and the Bureau of Public Safety Office.

There are 40 officers who will be undergoing the enforcement training. There are six from the FSM, six from RMIs and 28 from Palau.
