EQPB approved 18 permits for residential and business

EQPB held a meeting on December 18 and January 8 and took action of the following applications.

Twelve Residential permits were approved by the Board during the meeting.These permits allow earthmoving activities and include but are not limited to home construction, septic system, connecting to the public sewer system, retaining walls, filling/excavation and access roads to residences.The applicants for residential permits were Jonathan Remengesau in Idid, Koror State;Angelina H. Obichang in Meyuns, Koror State;  Salvador Remoket in Choll, Ngaraard State;Shirley Tulop in Kesebelau, Airai State;Lillian Milong in Ngermid, Koror State;Skilang Odaol in Ngermid, Koror State;Louisa Santos in Idid, Koror State;Maria Dengokl in Meketii, Koror State;Ted Ueda in Ikoranges, Airai State;Cynthia Malsol in Ikoranges, Airai State;Gregorio Ngirmang in Ngerchol, Peliliu State andPearl Marumoto in Meyuns, Koror State.Six permits were approved for business establishments.The business establishments that applied for permits are Besure Kanai, HANPA Construction, Airai View Hotel and PTC, SDA School and Surangel & Sons Co., CIP Bureau of Public works.Joel Toribiong also applied for a permit for the constructions of an 8 feet x 60 feet long retaining wall and renovating an existing building in Dngeronger into a store.EQPB said Besure Kanai was issued a permit to build a warehouse at Ngetkib, Airai State.  This is a 30 ft. x 75 ft. commercial warehouse that will be erected on a portion of stabilized filled wetland area in their lot to house equipment and construction materials.HANPA Construction is permitted to construct and operate an 80 ft. x 42 ft. long vehicle/equipment quarry workshop in Ngaremlengui State.  The project involves minor excavation for footings of the shop.  The shop will implement Best Management Practices to better manage operation wastes such as used oil and recyclable materials.Airai View Hotel and PTC were issued a permit to repair a collapsed slope within the hotel boundary at Ngetkib, Airai State.  This involved constructing a 6 ft. x 90 ft. long reinforced concrete retaining wall to restore a collapsed walkway to alleviate further damage to the surrounding grounds and structure.SDA School and Surangel & Sons Co., was permitted to concrete/pave their access road/driveway and parking lot which would improve the drainage of the school grounds.  Permittee will improve public water drainage system as part of the mitigation of environmental impacts.CIP-Bureau of Public Works (ROP), Ngardmau State and HANPA Construction Co., was permitted to construct and improve 1,450 ft. x 20 ft of an existing gravel road.  This project involves grading, minor excavation, filling and compaction of gravel and final concreting of an existing gravel road.  This will improve the condition of the road, minimize erosion/sedimentation impacts and water drainage system.
