EUCON undergoes accreditation evaluation

OCTOBER 4, Tuesday, was a busy day for EUCON International University or EIU, and its administrators, faculty, staff, and students. At 9 a.m., EIU’s accreditation evaluation for Reaffirmation II, a 10-year accreditation status for the university, started.

On Nov. 28, 2009, by virtue of U.S. Public Law 110-229, the CNMI was placed under U.S. immigration control, prompting it to seek the approval of the Student Visa Exchange Program when accepting nonimmigrant students.

On Dec. 11, 2009, EUCON was approved by the SEVP to issue Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Students.

EUCON was granted Reaffirmation I by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools or TRACS Accreditation Commission on Oct. 29, 2013, for a period of 10 years.

On Oct. 21, 2014, EUCON was approved by TRACS to change from an undergraduate-only, Category II institution, to a Category III institution offering a master of arts degree in theology.

On March 16, 2015, EUCON International College was approved by TRACS to change its name to EUCON International University.

On April 15, 2019, TRACS accepted the Interim Fifth-Year Report submitted by EUCON following a successful self-study and site visit.

EUCON is now seeking Reaffirmation II.

On May 5, 2022, TRACS conducted an institutional staff review self-study visit. All follow-up requirements were completed by EUCON.

The TRACS team members are Dr. Peter Lee, the chairman who is also the provost of Washington Theological Seminary; Dr. Elizabeth Stanton, former vice president for academics of San Diego Christian College; Nino Pate, former vice president of administration and finance and CFO of Pacific Islands University; Jenny Kim, former executive director of operations of Reformed University; and Catherine Pendley, the library director of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College.

Dr. Tanmay Pramanik, TRACS vice president of institutional compliance of TRACS, is guiding the team visit process.

The EIU Reaffirmation II TRACS team’s work started on Oct. 3, Monday, and ends Oct. 5, Wednesday.
