MAY 25th marked the somber 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Faloma and Maleina Luhk, but the case remains open, said special-agent-in-charge Steven Merrill of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Honolulu Division.
“For the past decade, the FBI has been dedicated to working with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Public Safety to find the missing girls,” Merrill added in a statement.
He said the FBI still “maintains an open investigation on the matter and remains steadfast in its commitment to find the girls and exact justice.”
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information regarding the whereabouts of the two sisters.
“We are grateful for the input received and continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward,” Merrill said.
If you, or someone you know, have information concerning the whereabouts of Faloma and Maleina Luhk, contact the FBI’s Saipan office at 322-6934.
Faloma and Maleina, who were 10 and 9 years old at the time were last seen waiting at a bus stop at Santa Lourdes, As Teo near their home on the morning of May 25, 2011.
Their disappearance sparked a monthlong and massive effort by the community and federal as well as local law enforcement to locate them.
