Firefighters respond to vehicle blaze in Chalan Laulau

THE Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a vehicle fire Sunday morning in Chalan Laulau.

In a statement, DFEMS said at approximately 8:35 a.m., on March 26, a male caller reported a vehicle fire on the road to Priority Care.

At 8:36 a.m., Engine-2 and Rescue-1 responded to the location. At 8:41 a.m., Rescue-1 was the first unit to arrive on the scene. 

According to DFEMS Public Information Officer Robert Mojica, “While on scene the nozzleman of Engine-2 quickly deployed an attack line and the main attendant of Rescue-1 donned the last of his bunker gear and suppressed the vehicle fire. At 8:51 a.m., the vehicle fire was contained.” No one was hurt.

The Division of Fire Prevention and Arson Investigation investigators arrived on the scene to investigate and assess the cause of the fire. 

“The cause of the fire will be posted at a later time,” Mojica added.
