The mother of the baby is “Kyoko” owned by Mr. Eisenhower Tewid, a member of NLA and the father is “Kiyoshi”. Mr. Tewid was also very happy to take care of the calf as if she was a real granddaughter.
22 cattle including the parents of the calf were donated by JLTA in Mar 2008. The project itself was proposed as a pilot plan for the future livestock industry of the Republic by Mr. Toshio Nakata, President of Tomoe Dairy Processing Co., Ltd., who also is a representative of Japan-Palau friendship association.NLA hopes that the birth of the calf encourages motivation of members and enhances the livestock industry of not only Ngiwal state but also of the country.Mr. Azuma expects that 3 more calves are going to be delivered in October and two more in November.
