Fish and Wildlife chief suspended

The suspension order issued by MOJ on July 20 last week.

Justice Minister Johnny Gibbons said Chin was suspended temporarily while pending further investigation. However he refused to elaborate the alleged anomaly being dragged against the chief.

Palau Horizon tried to get the side of Chin but he cannot be reached for comment.

Chin was replaced by Lieutenant Richard Ngiratrang, former investigator of the Attorney General’s Office.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife is under the MOJ office, it was established to ensure the long-term survival and sustainability of the natural resources for present and future generations in the Republic of Palau.

Last month the DOFW headed by Chin conducted an investigation on the carcasses of five humphead parrotfish or Kemedukl found in Ngermid, Koror State.

The kemedukls are protected and considered as endangered species.
