Former Jamaican Grill employee accused of criminal trespass, public drunkenness

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A former employee of a Mangilao restaurant allegedly showed up to the restaurant two days after he was fired and was screaming loudly and smelled of alcohol.

Last week Monday, at about 12:14 a.m., police responded to a criminal trespass complaint at Jamaican Grill in Mangilao, where the owner reported Kaynor Stephen Muritok attempted to enter the establishment through a door, according to a magistrate’s complaint.

Muritok, whose age is listed as either 25, 26, or 32 in the charging documents, was a former employee, the restaurant owner reported.

“While at that location, the officers observed the defendant screaming loudly. The officers learned that the defendant’s employment with Jamaican Grill was terminated on Nov. 18, 2023, and that (owner) told the defendant he was no longer welcome at the establishment,” the complaint states.

When an officer approached Muritok, the officer noted an odor of alcohol coming from Muritok’s breath and person.

“During that time, the defendant was yelling and … the officer observed that several individuals exiting their work places and residences observing the defendant’s yelling,” the complaint stated.

Muritok was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct as petty misdemeanors and public drunkenness as a violation.
