Shultz paid a courtesy call to Vice President Kerai Mariur on Wednesday morning.
Shultz, in his short trip was accompanied by former Hawaii Governor John Waihe’e. Waihe’e served as governor from 1986 to 1994.
Mariur in an interview said the two men are involved in a non-profit organization working with FEMA to enhance capabilities of nation to address disaster.
He said Shultz group has obtained grant to help developing nations like Palau to enhance capabilities.
Shultz served as the U.S. Secretary of State from 1982 to 1989 during Ronald Reagan’s administration.
Shultz also served as President Richard Nixon’s secretary of labor from 1969 to 1970. (Bernadette H. Carreon)
