Igisaiar, 23, appeared before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho for a bail hearing on Monday morning.

Judge Camacho imposed a $10,000 cash bail on Igisaiar who was charged with assault, assault and battery, tampering with a vehicle, and disturbing the peace.

Assistant Public Defender Vina Seelam represented the defendant while Assistant Attorney General Frances Demapan appeared for the government.

After the hearing, Igisaiar was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections and was ordered to return to court on Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing, and on Oct. 3, at 9 a.m. for an arraignment.

In a statement to the police, the complainant said Igisaiar is the father of her two minor children.

They separated three months ago, but had been keeping in touch, she told police.

On the night of the incident, she said she got worried when he stopped answering her calls. She said he had told her that he would be going to a dart game at a bar before heading home.

She said after someone from a bar answered Igisaiar’s cellphone that he had left behind, she took her nine-month-old baby and went to the bar to pick up Igisaiar’s cellphone around 4 a.m.

As she was about to drive off, Igisaiar flagged her vehicle, so she turned around and stopped where he was. She rolled down the passenger window and told him to get in the car so she could drop him home but he refused.

She said Igisaiar started getting mad, telling her that he would hit her head with the beer bottle he was holding. He then made a motion to hit her, she added.

She said he was also banging a yellow Yeti can cooler against the passenger side window before throwing it at her, which left a bump on the right side of her head.

She said Igisaiar then told her: “Give me my phone, hurry up. Before I bottle your face, I swear to God.”

According to the police, the complainant provided video footage showing Igisaiar throwing the can at her and telling her “You’re really not gonna give me my phone. You stupid b***h.”

She said Igisaiar eventually got inside the passenger side of the vehicle and started shouting, kicking, and punching the interior of the vehicle.

She said Igisaiar was shouting at her, telling her to leave while kicking her vehicle’s dashboard, windshield, air-conditioning vents, gear shifter, and touch screen for the radio panel, damaging them.

She said Igisaiar also ripped off the rear-view mirror and used his left hand to slap her face, but she blocked it with her right hand. When he exited the vehicle, she called for police assistance.

The complainant told police that Igisaiar had also physically abused her in the past. She provided photos and video footage as evidence, police said.
