This will be the fourth advisory that the department has put out in less than three weeks for the public to take preventive measures in controlling the diseases from spreading throughout the communities on Yap main island.
The advisory cautions Yap residents to help keep their homes and property clean of potential mosquito breeding areas.

137 suspected cases of dengue have been diagnosed in Yap since the third week of October. Out of that number, 25 have been tested positive.
Leptospirosis is a rat-borne disease spread to people by rats. Symptoms include dry cough, fever, headache, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and shaking chills.
