FSM president, vice president, Congress sworn in

POHNPEI (KUAM News/Pacnews) — The Federated States of Micronesia on Tuesday inaugurated its national leadership in the congressional chambers in Pohnpei. 

FSM President Wesley W. Simina, Vice President Aren B. Palik, Speaker Esmond B. Moses, and the 23rd FSM Congress took their oath of office  in a joint ceremony.

In his address, President Simina said, “Unity inherently demands our careful attention and vigilance…unity is our strength and prosperity.” 

Dignitaries from across the region attended the event including U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Guam Lt Gov. Josh Tenorio.

In a social media post, Tenorio said, “It was an honor to represent the people of Guam and celebrate democracy and friendship with the people of the Federated States of Micronesia.”
