GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang celebrated Mother’s Day with the manamko’ on Thursday at the Office on Aging.

On behalf of CNMI government employees, the governor wished the manamko’ a Happy Mother’s Day, saying he was very happy that he and the lt. governor were with the senior citizens in honoring all the mothers in the CNMI.

“This is a really simple way of saying Happy Mother’s Day. We want to also thank you for raising your families and nurturing the Commonwealth,” the governor said.

The lt. governor said they were very happy to host the manamko’ Mother’s Day celebration and provide lunch to the senior citizens.

“You are the mothers of the Commonwealth, and hopefully we’ll continue to see each other. Stay healthy, and get your regular checkups,” Apatang added.

Special Assistant for Women’s Affairs Barbara Sablan, who represented first lady Wella Palacios, thanked the manamko’, especially the mothers, “for staying strong and being a part of what is going on here in the CNMI.”
