GOVERNOR Ralph DLG Torres is scheduled to appear virtually as a witness before the full U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources early Wednesday morning, Feb. 2.
At 6 a.m. Chamorro Standard Time, the committee will hold a hearing to examine the state of the U.S. territories.
The committee chair, U.S. Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, and ranking member, U.S. Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming will give the opening remarks.
Joining Governor Torres on the first witness panel are U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Albert Bryan, Jr., Guam Gov. Lourdes Leon Guerrero, American Samoa Gov. Lemanu P.S. Mauga, and Puerto Rico Gov. Pedro R. Pierluisi.
The hearing will be webcast live on the committee’s website (http://energy.senate.gov) and an archived video will be available shortly after the hearing concludes.
The other committee members are Democratic Sens. Ron Wyden of Oregon, Maria Cantwell of Washington, Martin Heinrich of New Mexico, Mazie K. Hirono of Hawaii, Angus S. King Jr. of Maine, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Mark Kelly of Arizona, John Hickenlooper of Colorado, and independent Bernard Sanders of Vermont.
The Republican members of the committee are James E. Risch of Idaho, Mike Lee of Utah, Steve Daines of Montana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, John Hoeven of North Dakota, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi, and Roger Marshall of Kansas.
