Acting Director of the Bureau of Public Safety Julio Ringang said that anyone who are in possessions of any government property were given until 12 midnight of Thursday to turn in the missing properties.
Ringang said they will make inventories of all government properties next week.He said all he can disclose right now is that some of the properties that are listed missing have been returned to the authorities.He refused to elaborate further adding once the ten-day grace period ends, BPS will release a statement.BPS Director Norvert Yano on February 2 issued a public announcement informing the public that some of the government properties such as boats, vehicles, furnitures, computers and other equipments used by government employees are missing.Yano requested anyone who is in possession of these properties to turn it in to the authorities or to report its whereabouts so that police can pick it up.Any person who is in possession of these properties were given ten days to turn it in. The ten-day grace period started on February 2 and will end February 12.Yano stated in his public announcement that after the ten-day grace period, any person found to be in possession of any government property without the proper authorization will be charged.Earlier, BPS said that they also asked the assistance of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate the missing government properties.
