The polling time started from 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m. During the opening of polling precinct voters have started to troops to vote for their beat.
There are four candidates vying for the legislator seat. Among the candidates are John “Juan” Wong, Felix Francisco, Bisayang Ush Luii and Mathias “Tiko” Smus.
The special election was held to fill in the legislature seat left by Ngerbeched legislator Timothy Teru Uehara who passed away in July.
According to Palau Election Commission (PEC), after closing time the election box will be brought to the office and start the counting.
Today, the PEC is expected to release the un-official result of the poll.
Ngerbeched hamlet has 872 registered voters.
Meanwhile, elected legislators in Ngiwal State will formally install into office today.
The swearing in will be held at 9 a.m. in Ilang-ilang restaurant.
The 14th legislative election was held in August 10.
The elected legislators have two year term in office.
