IPI says it’ll pay employees today

IMPERIAL Pacific International has promised that it will pay the salaries of its remaining employees today, Friday, Sept. 30, Commonwealth Casino Commission Executive Director Andrew Yeom told the commission on Thursday.

IPI failed to pay its employees on Sept. 23, he said, adding that for the Aug. 26 and Sept. 9 payrolls, IPI paid the security guards only.

The employees of the IPI executive office have yet to be paid, Yeom said.

However, he said IPI’s senior advisor for human resource Reddie Dela Cruz assured him that everyone will be paid today, Friday.

One of IPI’s security guards told Variety that there are only six of them manning the IPI casino and the unfinished hotel tower in Garapan. There used to be 15 of them but due to payroll delays, some have been furloughed while others stopped reporting for work.
