SUPERIOR Court Associate Judge Joseph Camacho on Monday was invited by the Department of Public Safety to discuss probable cause, seize and seizure and related topics with the cadets of the 26th Cycle Police Academy.
In his presentation to the 44 cadets, the judge focused on the U.S. constitutional rights to privacy of every citizen.
He said to overcome the Constitution’s privacy protection there must be probable cause that a crime has been committed.
He previously told Variety that “in order for the officers to do a good job as police officers they need to understand the ramifications of going into an individual’s home or arresting someone, making sure that they have probable cause to make an arrest, and or search.”
The current police academy started in early April, and the cadets are expected to graduate in early August.
They will earn 40 college credits from the academy through the Northern Marianas College.

Judge Joseph Camacho talks about “search and seizure” rules with police cadets.
