Recently, Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang proclaimed June 2023 as CNMI Ocean Month and June 8, 2023 as CNMI Ocean Day at the Minachom Atdao in Susupe. Joining the governor and lt. governor were Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality Administrator Eli D. Cabrera, BECQ-Division of Coastal Resources Management Director Richard V. Salas, Mariana Islands Nature Alliance Executive Director Roberta Guerrero, 500 Sails Director of Sailing, Seamanship, and Seafaring Milton Coleman, Jr., Northern Marianas College President Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero, Saipan Mayor RB Camacho, other officials and community members. Governor Palacios and Lt. Governor Apatang call upon all citizens of the Commonwealth to reflect on the value and importance of our ocean not only to our livelihoods and economy, but also as a source of recreation and enjoyment.
