The Palau Election Commission is now all set for the incoming Koror State 9th General Election which will be held today.
The total registered voters for Koror is 5, 238. Koror is the capital of Palau and about 64 percent of the population of the country lives in the state.
The Commission has printed out 4,700 ballots for the elections which will be distributed to 12 Hamlets namely Ngermid, Ngerchemai, Idid, Ikelau, Dngeronger, Meyuns, Ngerkesoaol, Iyebukel, Meketii, Ngerbeched, Madalaii and Ngerkebesang.
The Election Commission also sent last week, 377 absentee ballots to Saipan, Guam, Hawaii and US.
There are also 18 candidates for Legislature at-large and 24 for Legislature in Hamlets.
The casting of vote will start at 7 am and will close at 7 pm.
The Koror State has also announced that there will be no campaigning and consumption or sale of alcohol in today’s Election Day.
