According to Ngiraingas, the nominating documents were signed on July 01 and filed at the Office of Election Commission the following day.During an interview yesterday, a question was raised regarding the seriousness of the candidates in their campaign efforts.“We are serious,” Koshiba said. “However, one cannot compare our efforts – in terms of financial capability – with the other candidates; we, like many of the people in the Republic, are struggling and our budgets are constrained.”Koshiba and Ngiraingas said that they are running to “fight for the small people” – the great many who are victims of corruption in the government.Koshiba said that he and Ngiraingas share a vision: to rid the government of corruption. He further added that all past and present corruption schemes will be pursued aggressively and all individuals involved in the corruptions will be pursued and charged to the full extent of applicable laws.Koshiba and Ngiraingas said that, in due time, they will feature their political platform on television and radio stations. Koshiba said that negotiations with owners of radio stations and television programs are in progress.“We cannot afford extravagant political campaigns and off-island trips,” Koshiba said.Amidst rumors that Koshiba and Ngiraingas are “Just Joking,” they have officially filed their nominating petition – they are “Not Kidding.”
