Koshiba formally announced on Wednesday that his running mate for the presidential bid is Ngiraingas.Koshiba said he has always had his eye on Ngiraingas two years ago because they share the same vision.Ngiraingas told reporters that he was approached by presidential candidate Johnson Toribiong earlier, however the latter opted to get Del. Kerai Mariur as running mate instead.Koshiba said he approached Ngiraingas in April during the governor’s leadership forum in Ngiwal.Koshiba said the tandem has the solution to Palau’s problems and intends to put honest people in the government who are capable.Koshiba said if they will win, they will strengthen’s Palau’s relationship with Malaysia.He said trade between the two countries will be opened.Ngiraingas meanwhile said , that the Nautilus Project which have been in the planning board for years will come into frutation.Koshiba said another priority of their team is to find a way to return the money of the defunct Pacific Savings Bank (PSB) to its depositors.Koshiba and Ngiraingas said they may not have enough funds to run a campaign, they ensure voters however that they will fight corruption.“We will eliminate corruption and we will put people in jail if they have violated the rules of Palau,” Koshiba said.He added that the immediate problems of Palau will be solved immediately when elected.
