11 months for theft

Superior Court Judge Perry Inos credited the 11 months she had already served at the Department of Corrections facility and placed her on one year probation.

The court also ordered Castillo to pay a $350 fine, a $100 court assessment fee, and $515 in restitution.

According to the plea agreement, Castillo took blank checks owned by her former employer on April 13, 2011, and used them in purchasing different items on island.

The crime was discovered by a staffer of Ming Yang store in San Vicente.

The staffer discovered that two checks had insufficient funds but were purportedly issued by the victim, police said.
