SEVENTEEN new U.S. citizens were sworn in at a naturalization ceremony at the District Court for the NMI on Tuesday.

Patricia Phelan, U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services officer, made a motion in court to accept the applicants as new citizens. Presiding over the ceremony, Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona granted the motion and welcomed the new U.S. citizens to the American family.

Marianas High School instructor Dr, Chas Algaier was the keynote speaker. 

The new U.S. citizens are Rona Lin Acebo, Clinton Daniel Marcelo Albert, Nina Duenas Batuigas, Ana Marioa Manansala Camacho, Loretta Ngitong Cuellar, Ruth Importante Dues, Renato Roa Gella, Teresita Aleta Gella, Kiriyaporn Thisa Jones, Flora Legaspi Lagrio, Alexander Olayres Roto, Rodil Sena Loto, Eden Madridano Marinas, Nenita Dalire Mira, Fernando Sotto Pangilinan, Nelly Dela Rosa Sablan and Anita Sia Sanchez.
