POLICE arrested two persons who were allegedly engaged in cultivating marijuana in Marpi on Tuesday morning.
Daniel Aldan Castro, 21, and Joash Joe Rafael, 19, were held for manufacturing controlled substance and cultivating marijuana plants, according to the Department of Public Safety.
DPS spokesman Pete C. Muna said members of the Special Investigation Section discovered 250 marijuana plants in flower vases, small containers and buckets.
Muna said the officers found the plantation during their search in the woods south of the lower parking lot of Bird Island.
After an hour, Wildlife officers arrived at the location and informed the officers that they discovered the plantation that morning when they were going through the Fish and Wildlife Conservation area.
The police officers later arrested the two suspects.
