Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said Ringyin Jin and Xirong Li were last known to reside in Chalan Kanoa.
Ogumoro said preliminary investigation revealed that at about 11:48 p.m. on May 6, 2008, an employee of the Kaizoku Restaurant along Beach Road in Susupe reported a theft of service incident at their establishment.
The report resulted to the arrest of Jin and Li who were both detained at the Department of Corrections facility. After serving their initial four-hour holding period, the suspects were eventually released.
Ogumoro said investigators who conducted a follow-up investigation learned through the Labor and Immigration Identification Data System that the two men are illegal aliens — they have been over staying on Saipan for nearly 10 years.
Jin was born in China on April 16, 1973. He is about 5’5 in height, light skinned and slim built. Jin first arrived on Saipan in April 1997 and worked as a waiter at Ocean Fever Corporation.
According to LIIDS, Jin’s contract expired in 1998 and he has no other record of employment since.
Li is 37 years old, stands at about 5’10, light skinned and slim built. Li first arrived on Saipan in March 1996 and was employed by Winners corporation garment factory as an ironer. Li’s immigration records indicated that his contract expired in 1997 and he has no further records of employment elsewhere.
“Should you have any information regarding the whereabouts of these two suspects, police investigators are asking that you call 911 or the Criminal Investigations Division at 664-9042/45,” Ogumoro said. She added that although the police have no records to classify the two men as armed or dangerous, the public is asked to not approach the two suspects but to contact the police as soon as they see them.
