The incident involved an Isuzu flatbed truck operated by Halim Khan, 39, and a four-door Camry driven by Regina Bowie, 21.
Both vehicles sustained damage.
Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said DPS received a call at about 11:53 a.m. of a crash that occurred on Chalan Pale Arnold road in front of IT&E.
At-scene investigation by Traffic Officer Daniel Smith indicated that the truck was traveling south on the outer south bound lane.
Suddenly, the sedan, which came from IT&E, tried to merge into the lane where it was struck by the truck, Blas said.
Further investigation by Traffic Investigator Kwon Norris after the scene was processed showed that “speed was not a factor in the case.”
Police said Regina was found to be the cause of the crash as she failed to yield. She is also an unlicensed driver, police added.
Regina, who had a passenger at the time of the accident, was brought to the hospital, witnesses said.
