Tinian Local Law 17-1 sets aside $4,000 for the monthly subsistence allowance of patients from the island who must undergo dialysis and treatment for cancer, multiple sclerosis, post cervical and vascular accident.
The amount will be divided equally among all eligible patients and covers only two months.
The U.S. Department of the Interior awarded Tinian $380,000 to upgrade it health center’s equipment and supplies.
The remaining $24,000 is allocated for the Tinian municipal scholarship program.
The bill designates the Tinian Municipal Scholarship Board as the expenditure authority.
