$2M needed to open 2 public schools

BOARD of Education Chairman Herman T. Guerrero says an additional $2 million funding is needed for the August opening of Koblerville High School and Kagman Junior High School. Guerrero on Wednesday said the administration had already been informed of the need for additional funding.

He said the amount needed was also included in the $41 million the Public School System had proposed for its spending package for the next fiscal year. “We did point in our communication to the governor that this is a concern the government needs to address,” Guerrero told Variety.

The $2 million additional funding will be used for the hiring of additional teachers and for the school’s operation, he said. “We need the additional funding to open the school properly.”
