The affected areas include the San Vicente Roundhouse, Dandan Rd., Dandan homestead and Obyan.
Camacho said the laterals within Dandan homestead will be de-energized as repairs are performed.
The power interruptions are required for the safety of the CUC linemen as they perform their work, he added.
A power interruption will be required on the second partial of Kiya 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to replace the pins on the primary lines, he said.
The line crews will then work on the pins within the homestead area, and this will also require laterals to be temporarily de-energized, he added.
“These maintenance projects incorporate the replacement of approximately 75 deteriorated pole top pins (pole hardware), which are of steel composite and were installed years ago and have now exceeded their life span,” Camacho said.
Because of their age and extensive exposure to the elements, the pins require replacement to reinforce the circuit, he added.
According to Camacho, the new pins have fiberglass shafts and are expected to be more dependable.
He said CUC apologizes for any inconvenience the power interruption may impose on the community.
