Shell Marianas raised its price at midnight while Mobil Oil followed suit at 3 p.m.
From $4.45 a gallon, regular gas is now $4.55 while premium went up from $4.77 to $4.87 and diesel from $4.76 to $4.86.
The full service for regular is now $4.68.
On Tinian which is served by Mobil Oil, regular gas is now $5.47 a gallon.
Mobil on Rota has not increased its price since last week and it remains at $5.40 a gallon.
Mobil Oil on Guam has also increased its prices: regular, from $4.32 to $4.42; premium, from $4.62 to $4.72; and diesel, from $4.51 to $4.61.
Housewife Masako Ohashi, who was filling up her Toyota RAV4 yesterday, said the continuous increases in gas prices have been “very tough” for her.
She said since her husband works, she’s the one who picks up and drops their daughter at every school day.
In one week, she said, she spends $50 to $60 on gas.
Mark Isip, an expediter of private company, said the price increases are “punishing” people.
The last time Mobil increased it prices on Saipan was on March 23.
