THE government has filed criminal charges against four persons who allegedly engaged in a riot and beat up a man last November.
Daniel A. Castro, Santiago Castro, Antonio Indalecio, and Keith K. O. Torres were charged with attempted aggravated assault, assault and battery, assault, conspiracy, disturbing the peace, criminal mischief, riot, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The defendants were summoned to appear and answer the charges in the Superior Court on April 29. Assistant Attorney General Aaron Romano Jr. stated in the information that on Nov. 11 the defendants struck the victim with beer cans, sticks and rocks, among others.
Romano said the defendants punched and kicked the victim repeatedly, causing “physical injury requiring medical treatment.”
The prosecutor said the defendants also hit the victim’s vehicle with objects. No other details were given in court documents.
In other news, the Attorney General’s Office filed charges against a 39-year-old man who allegedly burglarized a vehicle last August.
Ramon Dela Cruz was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, burglary, and criminal mischief. He was summoned to answer the charges in court on April 29.
According to the information, on Aug. 22 Dela Cruz broke into the vehicle belonging to a woman and took its alternator.
