44 Filipino workers graduate from Plan Reading training

The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of eight Sundays of training which ran from Feb. 1 to March 22, 2009.

The training, which was offered by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in cooperation with the Marianas Filipino Engineers & Architects Association or MAFEA, was for those in the construction industry.

Consul General Wildredo DL. Maximo congratulated the trainees for expanding their knowledge and skills that will be useful in their work areas.

The course provided the trainees with information regarding plan reading in mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, architectural projects, as well as plumbing and safety and compliance.

Garcia, Emilio G. Garra, Fernando C. Java, Marvin J. Manahan, Cecilio M. Milano, Demetrio M. Naperi, Arnold C. Narciso, Johannes M. Obligacion, Reynante G. Opena, Emiliano P. Ordinario, Cesario L. Also present during the ceremony were Philippine Labor Representative Joan Lourdes D. Lavilla and Welfare Officer Reynaldo D. Tayag.

The Plan Reading training is just one of the skills upgrading courses the Philippine labor office offers to Filipino workers in the CNMI.

Other training sessions include computer literacy and repair, home décor and sewing classes, baking and cooking lessons.
