5 days for breaking girlfriend’s windshield, damaging another vehicle

Govendo originally sentenced Casil to one year imprisonment, all suspended except for five days for criminal mischief that was adjudicated as a domestic violence offense.

Casil was expected to be released from prison yesterday. He will be placed on two years probation.

Casil will pay a $500 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, a probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office, and restitution for the damaged Hyundai Tiburon and a Ford Explorer.

Casil will have no contact with his victims for the duration of his probation period and will write a letter of apology to his victims.

He will not possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances during his probationary period, and will subject himself to blood, breath, or urine tests any time the Adult Probation Office demands it.

He will not enter places that promote the sale or consumption of alcohol, or associate himself with persons who are consuming alcohol or controlled substances, or who are under the influence of controlled substances or alcohol.

Casil will submit to anger management and alcohol/substance abuse examination at the Community Guidance Center, and abide by whatever recommended treatment.

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government while Assistant Public Defender Matt Meyer served as counsel for Casil.
