ITC coordinator Roy Diaz Rechebei yesterday said the six slots will be available to participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We are urging participants to come and register now for the remaining slots. Classes will start on Wednesday next week until July 15,” he said.
Two more computer workshops will be offered following the first one, he said, and all these are under the summer programs of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library for 2011.
The workshops underwritten by JKPL and the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library and State Technology Act’s 5-year grant will include Office Suite Applications.
The first workshop will cover Office Suite Applications: Purpose and Proper Use which will allow participants to get a better grasp of the uses of the specific programs being used.
The Joeten-Kiyu ITC has been offering free regular computer classes every Saturday and the workshops are in addition to the regular classes.
Rechebei said more slots are still available for the second and third workshops which will start on July 20 until Aug. 5, and from Aug. 10 to 26.
Workshop 2 will cover Integrating Files Within the Suite Applications while Workshop 3 will cover File Management & Alternatives of Software.
Workshop sessions are $30 for each individual, and participants must have at least a basic knowledge in computer use.
