
SUPERIOR Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo has sentenced seven individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol, and three others for reckless driving.
Alonzo Pedro, who pled guilty to DUI, was sentenced to serve a year in jail, but suspended except seven days. Pedro was given credit for 12 hours of time served. He was ordered to pay a fine of $500, and his driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days.
Pedro will report to the Department of Corrections on June 15 at 10 a.m., and will be released on June 21 at 10 p.m.
After serving his sentence, he will be placed on two years’ probation and will perform 40 hours of community service. He will also pay probation and court fees of $265.
For Fernando Estella, this is his second DUI conviction. He was ordered to serve three days in jail, but was given credit for 24 hours of time served. Estella will pay a $500 fine, and his driver’s license suspended for 30 days.
He will report to Corrections on June 13 at 9 a.m., and will be released on June 15 at 9 a.m.
Estella will be placed on one-year probation after serving his sentence and will perform 40 hours of community service. He will pay $145 in probation and court fees.
Allen Muna will serve four days in jail for DUI. He was given 12 hours’ credit for time served. Muna will report to Corrections on June 30 at 4 p.m. and will be released on July 4 at 4 a.m.
Muna will pay a $500 fine, and his driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days. He will be placed on one-year probation after serving his jail sentence, and will perform 40 hours of community service. Muna will also pay $145 in probation and court fees.
John Quitugua pled guilty to DUI, and was sentenced to five days. He was given 24 hours’ credit for time served. He will pay a $500 fine and his driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days.
He reported to Corrections on May 24 at 8 a.m. and was released on May 28 at 8 a.m.
Quitugua will be placed on one-year probation and will perform 40 hours of community service. He was also ordered to pay $145 in probation and court fees.
Jenin Dugwen pled guilty to DUI and child restraint violations. She was sentenced to five days in jail, and was given 12 hours’ credit for time served.
Dugwen will report to Corrections on June 13 at 9 a.m. and will be released on June 18 at 9 a.m. She was ordered to pay a fine of $750 and her driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days.
Dugwen will be placed on one-year probation after serving her prison sentence. She will perform 40 hours of community service, and will pay $145 in court and probation fees.
Debra Mae John pled guilty to DUI and was sentenced to three days in jail. She was given credit for 24 hours of time served. John will report to Corrections on June 24 at 9 a.m. and will be released on June 26 at 9 a.m.
She will pay a $500 fine and her driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days.
John will be placed on one-year probation after serving her sentence and will perform 40 hours of community service. John will also pay $145 in court and probation fees.
Sattonia Takahashy pled guilty to DUI and was sentenced to serve three days in jail. She was given credit for 12 hours of time served.
Takahashy will report to Corrections on June 1 at 6 p.m. and will be released on June 3 at 6 a.m. She was ordered to pay a $500 fine and her driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days.
In addition, she will be placed on one-year probation and perform 40 hours of community service after serving her jail sentence. Takahashy will pay $145 in court and probation fees.
Tom Bernardo, Jr., Kelly K. Satur, and Jones Soumataw were convicted of reckless driving, but will not serve time in jail.
Each was ordered to pay a fine of $250. Bernardo and Satur’s driver’s licenses will be suspended for 30 days while Soumataw’s driver’s license will be revoked for six months.
The three will be placed on six months’ probation and will perform 40 hours of community service.
Each will pay $85 in court and probation fees.
