9 MHS students to undergo Air Force training

The students — two 12th graders and seven 11th graders — were sworn yesterday by Lt. Col. James Hunsicker at the MHS-ROTC office.

Hunsicker told the students that they may be in for a lot of adjustments but he is positive the students can make it.

“We welcome you to join the Air Force training. You are in for lots of adjustments especially during the first few weeks of training but you will get used to everything,” Hunsicker told the students.

Pacific recruiter MSgt. Dayne C. Thomas of the Air Force Recruiting Service said MHS has produced the biggest percentage of recruits from the CNMI for the last two years.

He said there are three other students recruited from Saipan Southern High School, one from Mt. Carmel School and one from Kagman High School.

Thomas said there were over 36 applications from CNMI schools this year.

To join the Air Force training from the MHS starting this summer are Judy Ann Tiples, Marycris Waing, Ken Yoshimoto, Alana Leon Guerrero, Vohn Guevarra, Carmelito Guiterrez, Necita Aldan, Mariefe Carreon, John Peter Cruz, Kelanie Aldan and Leilani Cepeda.

Thomas said students who are 18 to 27 years old and interested to apply for the U.S. Air Force may contact the Air Force Recruiting Office at GCIC Building, 414 W. Soledad Avenue, Suite A-3, Hagåtña, Guam, 96910-5014.

They can also call Thomas at 671-477-3131, fax 671-477-3155 or email [email protected] for more information.
