A Christian store spreads the good news

The Christian bookstore  opened last November after Abragan and her husband Eric found the right place at Ace Bldg in As Perdido.

“Actually it has been a long dream. It was already in my heart to open up one. It took some years,” she said.

She believes that the ultimate reason for her dream is to provide blessings to the community.

“It’s not actually a business but  a ministry,” said Abragan

She received her business license in Feb. 2009 but couldn’t find the right location for the bookstore.

“I just bought some books and got gift items and e-mailed friends to ask them if they wanted to order,” said Abragan.

She also displayed some of the items at the Life in the Son Church, where her husband is a pastor, while she looked for a location for her bookstore.

Her store is for people who need religious items but without the time or the means to buy them online.

“My husband supported me but he also told me to really pray about it and plan. Have a mission, have a vision,” said Abragan.

In Oct. 2009, they finally found a good location and opened the bookstore just in time before the Christmas shopping rush.

Abragan said many customers expressed excitement in finding a bookstore that suits their Christian needs.

“By providing this bookstore, the word of God goes out and people get to share the Gospel of Christ,” she said.

3 Strands Christian outlet offers gift items such as t-shirts, canvass prints, frames, bags, t-shirts, mugs, water bottles, different versions of  the Bible, study guides, financial books as well as marriages and family life books. This week, Valentine gift items will be available.

“My dream has come true. God answered our prayers,” Abragan said.
