Acting governor approves another spending measure for Tinian

ACTING Gov. Karl King-Nabors on Thursday approved House Bill 24-25, appropriating the remaining $42,000 in poker machine license fees collected by the Department of Finance for the Tinian municipal government.

Department of Finance resident head Milissa A. Mendiola certified the availability of $84,000 in poker machine license fees paid by Long Sheng Corporation for the renewal of licenses to operate seven poker machines on Tinian.

Authored by Rep. Patrick San Nicolas, H.B. 24-25 is now Tinian Local Law 24-7.

Two weeks ago, Gov. David M. Apatang signed H.B. 24-20 into T.L.L. 24-6, appropriating the first $42,000 of the funds for the Tinian Mayor’s Office, Municipal Council, Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation, and Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission.

T.L.L. 24-7 appropriates another $39,000 for the Tinian Mayor’s Office and $3,000 for the Tinian Municipal Council.
